Horticulture professor Happy (Sonakshi Sinha) arrives in Shanghai and the other Happy (Diana Penty) along with husband Guddu (Ali Fazal) also lands up in the Chinese city at the same time. Overall, a comedy which could have been better with right direction and script. Jassi Gill Does not have much to do along with Diane Penty and Ali Fazal. He is equally supported by Piyush Mihsra who will tickle your funny bone. He is outstanding and brings down the house with his antics. Jimmy Shergill leads the way with perfect comic timing. The only saving grace in the film is the performances. Art direction is good with high production value. The screenplay is fitted with too many loop holes.

Movie does starts of well with hilarious moments and few scenes are actually enjoyable but the second half tumbles down. Sometimes, you have to gather your wits to understand what is actually going on. He tries to repeat the same in the sequel by bringing in more characters (Jassi Gill and Sonakshi Sinha) and confuses you with too much of things going one in just matter of seconds.

Mudassar Aziz does well in the Happy Bhag Jayegi where he gives utmost importance to the key characters and result is fruitful.

What follows next is the series of confusion and mistaken identities. Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi is a comedy of errors when Happy (Sonakshi Sinha) is kidnapped by the local goons in China who mistaken her for the original Happy (Diane Penty). Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi is an acid test you have to go through to test your intelligence. I was right after watching the film as well. After watching the trailer of Happy Phirr Jayegi, my expectation were shadowed with not-so-great dialogues and too much things going on one frame.

Happy Bhag Jayegi is worth watching once but do not go with high hopes!Ģ.I had a huge expectation from Happy Phirr Jayegi as I loved the first part, Happy Bhag Jayegi, released in 2016. Despite being a one-time watch, Happy Bhag Jayegi gets saved because of Piyush Mishra's impeccable Urdu, jokes drawn at the cost of Indo-Pak relations, an honest performance by Jimmy Shergill and a soothing background score. There is an obvious love triangle as Bilal hopelessly starts liking Happy but his fiancee (Momal Sheikh) manages to win her man in the end. Penty's role could have been meatier but it is at the least noticeable. The first half does have some good dialogues owing to Jimmy Sheirgill's consistent acting and Piyush Sharma's comic timing but the second half totally falls flat as the story starts getting sluggish. Had Aziz's writing been slightly substantial then Happy Bhag Jayegi could have been less banal and predictable. Bilal then helps in re-uniting Guddu and Happy and Bagga acts a villain in the love story. That's when Happy shows her "Geet" like colours just like Kareena Kapoor did in Jab We Met and convinces Bilal to do the otherwise. Already caught amidst an emotional struggle, Bilal suddenly finds Happy at his home and after the tale is told, Bilal plans for deporting Happy. On the other hand, Bilal Ahmed is an admirable gentleman whose dreams of becoming a cricketer are overshadowed with those of his father (Javed Sheikh) who wants him to "change the history of Pakistan" by becoming a politician. The catch is just that a comedy of error occurs and Happy elopes in a wrong truck which takes her to Lahore from Amritsar along with Bilal Ahmed's (Abhay Deol) convoy.

However, Happy's marriage is fixed with a corporator-cum-opportunist, Daman Singh Bagga (Jimmy Sheirgill) against her wishes and it gives Happy all the more reasons to run away. She loves a smoothie named Guddu (Ali Fazal).

Pretty evident from the title itself, Happy Bhag Jayegi portrays a story of a perky girl named Happy (Diana Penty) who has a mind of her own and believes in living her life on her own terms. Cast: Diana Penty, Abhay Deol, Jimmy Sheirgill, Ali Fazal, Piyush Mishra, Javed Sheikh, Momal SheikhĪfter a not so impressing directorial debut with Dulha Mil Gaya (2010), Mudassar Aziz has returned with a comedy film called Happy Bhag Jayegi.
